mazzulla_oblongata: Sorry, Coach. I'm out for the year. Shoulder surgery.

mazzulla_oblongata: I get a redshirt tho.

HuggUlongtime: What the hell is going on with key starters and shoulder injuries at this University? It's like we have the Anti-Dr. James Andrews on staff.

the_butler_did_it: So long as Da'Sean breathes oxygen, your sole job in the entire universe, your very existence on the earth is predicated on finding him the basketball and passing it somewhere within a 3-5 foot radius of his vicinity, preferably in a leading fashion so as to permit his quick hoist of a shot skywards.

HuggUlongtime: You know, Da'Sean, you don't HAVE to shoot the ball every time you touch it.

the_butler_did_it: If I'm not shooting it, who else is going to? Him?

sir_wellington: /doff's cap

HuggUlongtime: You could have a point, Da'Sean.

Re: WIRE- Truck vs. Tall Things
it seems that you missed a few scenes where truck throws the ball to the first row and/or dribbles off his foot into the backcourt

Right now our best players would have a hard time shooting the basketball into the ocean if there were asked. Huggs has said it time and time again, until we get our offensive game going, we're gonna be in trouble. I haven't seen this many airballs since I accidentally flipped on a WNBA game.

This is sad, a freshman, because of injuries, is thrown on the floor...he is our 3rd leading scorer, 2nd leading assist man, and has the 3rd best 3-point percentage and he gets to come on a wvu fan message board and read not one but 2 articles slamming him....more proof we have some of the worst fans in america

I agree with Adamgod8 100% We are lucky we have Truck and I don't know who could have entered the line-up and contributed quicker than him. He is a freshman and holds his own and frequently excells in big East play. Shame on us.

A) I pointed out in the other article "slamming" truck that he was a freshman that has been thrown on the floor due to injuries and that the Mountaineers would be screwed without him.

B) I should hope he's our 3rd leading scorer- he taken 26 more shots than the fourth leading scorer, Ebanks, despite the fact that he shoots a lower percentage (37.%) from the field than EVERY other regular Mountaineer player.

Additionally, I would hope he's second on the team in assists considering he's the starting point guard. But even then, he only averages 2.7 per game (and 2.4 turnovers per game- which leads the team and is more than all but 12 other players in the Big East), which isn't exactly something to write home about. As for threes, he shoots 34%- which isn't bad- but being 3rd on among the starters isn't terribly impressive considering that the other players he's above aren't guards like he is.

C) I gave him a C- in the other column. That's not slamming him. That's about as well as he's played. I closed his section by saying "All this said, see my disclaimers above. The kid has been thrown to the lions in a league with plenty in the pride. No one ever expected him to be in this situation, and he's kept his composure during stretches that would test any 18-year-old.

Additionally, WVU would be absolutely screwed without him...

Truck's got a way to go, but he's young and he's certainly got the grit to get there."

How is that "slamming" him?

D) The Wire is just jokes, mang. It doesn't make you a bad fan to laugh at the idiosyncrasies of a player on your favorite team.

Speaking for myself, I thought the wire was funny. I just felt that some of the comments (including one of mine) aren't how I really feel or what I would say if Truck and I were talking one on one.
