To my fellow Soap Boxers,

I hearby propose a general ceasefire/non-participation in all things Soap Box on WVU game days/nights. I ask this as I know the coming general election and related issues will generate an enormous amount of debate.

This debate for the most part is informative and enjoyable but many times it results in an inordinate amount of hate and anger being tossed around.

I think a voluntary "day off" from the Soap Box on game day re-emphasizes the point that we all have more in common than we know. One of those common threads is the "Old Gold and Blue" and I for one would like us to put all aside and put everything behind them on game day.

Hell we might even start a new tradition here on the Couch. So what say you my fellow Soap Boxers?

As of midnight, I'm out until Sunday.

In the Mountaineer Spirit,

Conservatively yours,
A-Wild

Agreed.

FWIW, I won't even read posts on Soap. I am too thrilled the season is here.

Good luck Mounties!

Agreed.

FWIW, you guys take up way too much of my time and I've been in soapbox semi-retirement for some time now.

See you tomorrow, Awild and Marcolian. You'll know me. I'll be the socialist.

Great idea, A-Wild. It's all about football today. The peace pipe has been lit (not that I expect any of the conservatives to partake, nor any of the liberals to inhale ). Let's Gooooooooooo Mountaineers!!!!

To all,
Thank you for participating in the first ever "Game Day Cease Fire"

I checked in just to see if anyone posted and I believe except for a few Soap Boxers stuck in some South Pacific jungle the cease fire held.

I say we do again next week and we have the begining of a new tradition.

To Rico
You one funny son of gun.

Technically I posted, but it was after coming home from the bar Friday night and before going to the tailgate Sat. morning.

i think my soap box cease fire may extend to the end of the semester. this working full time and going to school is a bunch of bull. i'm also back in the gym five days a week. oh there's also my newly adopted nephew in the house. he's 14 months old. i'll never see you folks again. so i guess that would mean i'm participating in the cease fire.

I hear you WVtarheel. This morning I became so overwhelmed for a few minutes that I was close to seriously losing it. Still I post on the couch . . . I don't have the new baby thing though, so maybe that's the difference. The couch is kind of my stress reliever.

Hang in there.

Hopefully the offense will score liberally and the defense will yield yardage conservatively.

Agreed, the fascists libertarian wing will be silent politically on Saturdays.

No violation if you are coming home from the bar and heading to the tailgate. Come on this IS WVU where serious refreshment in expected and encouraged across the political spectrum.
