I like grapes, too. They were on sale this weekend, so I bought 2 pounds. I eat a lot of fruit--not just ramen noodles and banana peppers.

WVUgirl...

My "I like grapes" comment was a line from the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" movie.

Have you seen it?

Hey,

Pastor Coe, sorry I didn't get your reference. No, I haven't seen the movie.

Back to fruit, yeah, cherries are much better than grapes. They are one of my 2 favorite fruits (the other being nectarines). I haven't seen cherries at the produce place yet.

Charlie's 4 decrepit grandparents are laying in the same big bed. 3 of them are discussing something that one of the grandmothers either cannot hear or possibly can't understand, but yet she wants to contribute to the conversation, so she pipes up and says:

"I like grapes"

:o)

Fresh pineapple is very good, agreed. See, I told you I love fruit.

Drinkineer, sorry for your allergy--that sux.

I've never had jicama, I'd like to try it though. How do you prepare it? Fried? Boiled?

I have a friend who had jicama once. A shot of penicillin cleared it right up

OK, here's my all-time favorite Carnac joke.

Carnac (holding the envelope up to his turban): "Sis-boom-bah."

Ed McMahon: "Sis-boom-bah."

Carnac: "That's what I said. Sis-boom-bah."

Ed McMahon (trailing off at the end): "Sis-boom-bah."

Carnac: "May your sister be molested by a herd of rabid camels." (or something like that)

Carnac: "Sis-boom-bah." (rips open envelope and unfolds the note inside)

(a series of pregnant pauses until Carnac can compose himself from repeatedly chuckling)

Carnac (reading note): "Describe the sound made by an exploding sheep."

(gales of audience laughter, and neither Carnac nor Ed can speak for the next two minutes)

Maria Sharapova was just upset in the French Open. She's a great player and very pretty, but what's up with the hollering? Sometimes I think it's funny and sometimes it's kind of disconcerting.

Thoughts?

the only time i had jicama it was raw. i think its actually a vegetable instead of a fruit. it looks like an oversized potatoe but taste nothing like it. ive dipped it in hot sauce, a mexi-ranch sauce, and had it just plain. it is really good.

only catch is it is hard to find. try a local farmers market and things like that. when walmart/kroger get them in, they limit you to one.
