I bet knapper starts. I think comparatively he is better than jc going into his freshman year defensively(which was still pretty good). And I think trae doomes might surprise people, watching the high school championship he played 1-3 and held his own against mountverde(who has the #1 overall recruit and several other d1 players)

Think you gotta have another ball handler in there. Maybe one of those grad transfer guys he's after :). If not, maybe Knapper. Huggs doesn't necessarily like to start freshmen, though there have been exceptions in times of extreme need or exceptional talent.

I don't know about McCabe's defense, but he is very good handling the ball and based upon the videos I've seen, he is a exceptional from long range

Very conspicuous absence of Bender on that list. Vingle knows what he is writing, and he is pretty close with Huggs, so I think it is very reasonable to read into that quote.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men's basketball coach Bob Huggins has announced that Jermaine Haley has signed a national letter of intent for the 2018-19 academic year.

Haley, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound guard, currently attends Odessa College in Odessa, Texas. A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, he will have two years remaining of eligibility at West Virginia.

"We are really excited to add size and experience to our backcourt," Huggins said. "We had a pressing need for size in our guard rotation. Jermaine will give us size and skill set in addition to being a willing passer in the backcourt."

At Odessa, Haley averaged 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field in 33 games. He had a season high 22 points at Howard College on Feb. 19. Odessa advanced to the second round of the NJCAA men's basketball national tournament. Haley was named to the Western Junior College Athlete Conference First Team and Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

I like it. How does he fit the numbers game? Isn't that a 5th player with 4 openings? Haven't we asked this before?

Either Routt goes back to walk-on status, Sags or Ahmad turns pro or someone else leaves.

Yep.

Worst case scenario ... Sags goes pro and Ahmad comes back.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Well yeah, I had that figured, hoped someone had a better solution or some inside info. The timing kind of worries me, like Huggs might know something we don't want to hear.

Who was the kid we thought was going to play this year but didnt due to grades? Maybe he is having Macon issues and won't qualify this year either. All guesses.

Ahmad is coming back, per Mitch Vingle. Still waiting on Sags.

Ahmad didn't get invited to the combine and saw the writing on the wall.

We won't hear from Sags until sometime after the combine on May 20th.

Added bonus for Sags though if he does come back...his combine invite means he's eligible to work out for up to 12 hours a week with the WVU coaching staff leading up to the event.
