I like our bracket. We could make the final four if we play well.

Never mind that we know nothing about Murray State and that Wichita State is a solid team, anybody that thinks they can take care of Villanova is delusional. That would be huge upset.

But lets worry about Murray State.

It all starts with Jonathan Stark, the OVC Player of the Year and winner of the conference tournament's most valuable player award.

A 6-foot senior who transferred to Murray State from Tulane in 2015, Stark ranks first in the conference in scoring, averaging 21.8 points per game, along with 2.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists. Remember Cameron Payne and Isaiah Canaan? Stark is the latest in a long line of stellar guards to light it up out in Murray.

But it doesn't stop there. Forward Terrell Miller Jr. is averaging 14.7 points per game and 8.3 rebounds, a figure that ranked No. 2 in the conference this season. Guard Ja Morant is putting up 12.6 points and 6.4 assists, which also ranked No. 2 in the OVC this year. The Racers are really starting to click as a team under third-year coach Matt McMahon, who has enjoyed easily his most successful season yet at Murray State.

They lost to Auburn by 4, and are on a 13 game winning streak.

Our region is easier than last year. But we will still find a way to disappoint somehow.

Team could seriously go as far as final four or lose first round. Wouldn't be suprised on either scenario. Most likely case is Sweet 16. I do like the matchups we have. Knew we would be either 4 or 5 seed, makes no difference. Being in Villanova's bracket is best matchup of the 1 seeds. Just glad not to be in Kentucky or Gonzaga's bracket for second game. I'd rather be a 5 seed with our matchups vs. TTU's 3 seed with a potential Florida and Purdue matchup.

As good as we could hope for. I would rather have been in Xavier's bracket but at least we will have a strong fanbase there with Murray St. Do not sleep on them, they can play.

Great bracket for us, scary teams on our side: Alabama,Florida, and Texas Tech. We should have got a 4 but this is a great looking division for WVU.

I'd rather play, Wichita State, Villanova, just better matchups for us, then Florida, Purdue. Florida knows the press and Purdue has a lineup we don't matchup well vs.

Obviously though, both Wichita State and Nova are very good teams too.

Yea can't really complain it's gonna be tough no matter what but at least we don't have the crooked Jayhawks or Puke on our side.

Taken from ESPN when breaking down the East Region:

Dark Horse: Underseeded at No. 5, West Virginia ranks 11th in our power ratings and could be a team to keep an eye on. The unfairly low seed means the Mountaineers will potentially have to unseat fourth-seeded Wichita State (always a tough out) and Villanova in back to back games, but West Virginia is a constant threat with its swarming, turnover-inducing defensive style. Even though WVU might have peaked too early with its terrific run around New Year’s — it’s lost 9 of its last 18 games — don’t count out Bob Huggins’ crew just yet.

The East bracket appears to be the most favorable with the eye ball test. I know nothing about Murray State. If they have good shooting guards we're in trouble. Off to google Murray State.
Looking at conference tournament champions:
ACC - Virginia we beat
SEC - Kentucky we led by 16(?) in the 2nd half
Big 12 - Kansas we gave us 3 2nd half, sizable,leads

Murray State beat Marist by FORTY.

We beat Marist by SIX.

Murray State is WAY under-seeded at a #12.

This will be a dog fight.

If we do not have shooters forget it. Murray State is a hot shooting team like Kansas. They are ranked 25th, at 48.5 http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bask ... s/team/_/stat/field-goals

Marshall will probably go further than us as they have great shooters. Ranked 38th with .549 We are so bad that the phrase "bad" means #217 out of 351. I believe this is the lowest ranking shooting team in the field of 68.

Nothing changes as the lame ass guys pass up shooting for bs plays. They are not prepared to step up and fire. Bobo must not like our guys missing but that is the nature of the game. Wake up and let them shoot the ball. Stop losing, playing simpleton offense. I think Bobo needs an offensive assistant to help his D minded game plays cause nothing changes on offense late in the game.

Only because of our hustle do we get all the extra piss poor shots, we just waste them constantly with no understanding that shooting is the essence of the game. Not having the third shooter is causing the team to fold under pressure. Our opponents only have to defend against our senior guards and keep Sags busy. Sags is ok but not consistent. Having timid shooters is our undoing and this glaring weakness should never have been to carry on for so long. Bobo is to blame for this mess and he needs to step up and make this a priority. Encourage our young shooters and stop pulling them when they miss.

Yes, we should know based on practice who is good and who is not. Please tell me you are making the shooting a #1 practice. Lowest in the field, Bobo. Get the players who can shoot on the court and then train them on D. Makes better sense than turning over the ball so often with wasted shots. Why hustle on D if you are unable to convert?

3 PT %

158 West Virginia 34 games 79.6 PPG 8.8 3PM 25 3PA 299 3PM 847 3PA .353 3P% 645 2PM 1329 2PA .485 2P% 1.24 PPS .503 FG%

Basically, we are stable in the threes. The two are were we fail and JC going inside is not the answer unless he had a kick out player waiting as they see JC go inside they are open for the kick out pass for an open 3. This play is needed desperately late in the game.

We are average in 3s and so far below average in twos. 36th in 2 attempts and 39th in 3 attempts. I think we could focus more on the 3 point shots as the money shot pays off points wise.

Kansas is 36th in three attempts at 857. But they focus on this offensively and are so much more proficient than us .403 compared to .353

Just follow Kansas's sets for the offense and we are NC.
