Yep, no surprises here. That stellar WVU defense was about as awesome as I predicted and it is a good thing Dana is in charge of the special teams.

And in the end it was a TOTAL of 6 first downs for WPU on offense. LOL, as stated we can't beat a team with a pulse. Bring on Delaware State and Who The F*ck are These guys colleges and Dana will excel!

UTH WVU
First downs 19 6
Rushes-yards 53-197 21-29
Passing 165 124
Comp-Att-Int 12-27-0 10-30-2
Return Yards 85 161
Punts-Avg. 6-42.33 9-42.0
Fumbles-Lost 2-2 2-2
Penalties-Yards 5-32 5-51
Time Possession 38:34 21:26

I really hate to say this, but we called it. I would have loved for us to be wrong about the outcome. But that was TERRIBLE. We didn't have 100 yards uuntil the last drive. Nobody even cared. I've never seen a more uninspired group of players.

I knew we should have tried Logan Routt at QB.

PS - BAN the "yellow" clown helmets!!!

The play calling on offense was of little consequence. The banged up O line could not create holes for the back up RB's and could not protect the backup QB. When good things did actually happen, the WR's did not catch very well or there were penalties on the offense.

The defense was not horrible.

The special teams was pretty good.

I thought our team performed as expected for an injured, QBless team playing in a who cares bowl the day after Christmas in 30 degree weather. I never expected to win and after seeing us play UT and OU, without Grier, barely wanted to watch the game.

The season ended badly. It happens from time to time.

If Todd Gurley goes down, the Rams' season is over very quickly. If Phillip Rivers goes down, the Chargers don't win. We. Are not the Patriots, who can lose Brady and still find a way to win. We are the Chargers or the Rams who rely heavily on one or two players to make it work. . This is not unheard of. Everybody take a breath.

So what do we do next year if Will goes down again? Chugs ain't too good. Every other QB is unproven as well. We get beat by teams with a pulse because our lines are weak and only one deep. Time to re-think recruiting. Power wins football. No lines = no success.

Question for you all?

How many times since Dana has been our coach TOTAL has WVU thrown to a Tight End?

I'm all for getting as many line beasts as possible. I have always believed football games are won and lost in the trenches.

Couple times a year.

And we have now recruited a bunch of TE's. Is he planning to convert them to WR's? Just blockers? Or are we about to change our ways a little?

I didn't expect much from this game and the team gave much less than my expectations. They looked very uninspired. There's no excuse for that. With that said, I still watched the entire game. It took me a while to learn how to be a fan without emotions being involved.

I have been talking about getting more TEs involved for about four years now.

They are great for the spread.

The can run block, pass block, and go down the seam to catch passes. And if the are faster than the normal TE, you can sneak them long every now and then.
