Bring out the brooooooooooms. WVU 6, KSU 1.

Note to skeptical sportswriters: The game drew 1,500+ on a sunny day at Hawley Field.

I have not been to a game since I graduated in 1993, but I highly doubt he goes to games. That would be a pretty tough pill to swallow ... watching the program flourish so shortly after you were let go from the position you had for nearly 20 years.

Three things....

One - I'm glad that WVU doesn't share the same opinion as Stockton. In that other sports should continue to be ignored.

Second - I Love bittersweet stories like the first one below.

Third - I'm glad that my Longhorns will share a little piece of WVU history in that bittersweet ending.

Jebus... I played slow-pitch softball on Father Flynn Field. I can't believe it was ever used for WVU baseball.

I attempted to go to this game, but I ended up making a $14 donation to Marshall instead.

I thought Hawley field was crap for Division 1!

I played quite a bit of Legion baseball on Hawley field playing against Morgantown Post 2 (?) back in the 80's. I can think of at least 5 fields in West Virginia that were better off the top of my head. Most of them were high school fields (Wheeling Park had a quaint field that had an awesome infield in terms of quality, true bounce and speed. It would be in my top 5)

Father Flynn field is not one of them. LOL

My senior year at North Marion I think we played St. Francis what seemed like 10 times in our 30+ game season. LOL I don't remember concrete stands out in the outfield of course that was now 30 years ago this year so my memory is not all that good. I do remember the infield being pretty crappy.

One would think that BOPARC would have better fields than Father Flynn.

It was when I played there, too.

They do, at White Park. Father Flynn used to get makeup and overflow games. No one liked it, as I recall.
